It’s a collection of seven islands, all linked together by bridges and is 20 minutes away from Burano. This island has been famous for centuries for working with blown glass, this tradition has been handed down from father to son since the 13th century. Today about 5000 inhabitants of Murano still work with glass, creating true art works. Between the streets of the centre, you can see how the glass is processed in the glass factories of the craftsmen!
This island is located in the northern part of the Venetian lagoon, very close to the islands of Mazzorbo and Burano, where tides are no longer noticeable. Arrived at Torcello, you are immersed in a landscape that seems remained to past times. The most famous sights are: Devil’s Bridge, the Museum of Torcello of the Middle Ages, Torcello’s Basilica, Santa Fosca, a Byzantine church and from the bell tower of the Cathedral you have a wonderful view over the whole island.
